Continuing Emotion Paintings

image

I’m continuing to do my emotion/anxiety paintings as a reaction to how I feel when I get home from work. I’m working on a smaller scale right now (fitting 5 days ono one 16×20 canvas). I definitely like working bigger with these types of images as it really lets me work more with my arm movements, but I really like how the composition is turning out!

    • Thank you Jenn! I’ve considered other colors for the dots, but I think I want to stick with black. When I think of the overwhelming feeling of anxiety that can seem to be all encompassing at times, black just seemed to be a good color that is reminiscent of that. It is difficult to see in the pictures, but I am starting to play around with how precise the black circle is and having it blend out more in regards to my feelings that day

  1. I’m into these as well Lindsay. How do you feel after you make these paintings? For me, and I assume for most artists, painting is calming. It would be interesting to see you make a mini painting that is created right after the big one. I’d be curious to see the difference in mood! You’d be showing the effects of work on your emotions and then the effects of the act of creating art!

    • That’s a really good idea Lindsay! I have found that on particularly crazy days as I am painting these, my feelings change towards the end and I want to try to change what I already made. It would definitely be interesting to see the “before and after” paintings next to one another to see the effect they had on me. I’ll try that out!

  3. Continuing emotion paintings capture raw human feelings, often reflected through fashion as a form of expression. A woman in a thoughtfully styled trench coat can convey elegance, strength, or melancholy. The Women Trench Coat Price can influence accessibility, making emotional storytelling through fashion more inclusive or exclusive in art.
