Howdy
My name is Matthew Amoroso. I’m attending SUNY New Paltz and am a adolescent education major with a concentration in mathematics. The home page looked too boring for me, so I decided to use it to explain the work submitted on other pages.
Reflective Cover Letter: This short letter to whoever is visiting this website talks about my feelings with ENG 170 and what I learned by taking the course. It was fun to reflect on everything we did and pick out what I enjoyed and how it helped me now, and how it will help me in the future.
An Open Letter to the Past Me: I wrote this to the younger version of myself when I was struggling with depression and concerned with my future. I’m always concerned with the future, so this letter was like telling myself to stop worrying about what the world has in store for me. Instead, just go with the flow, be happy, and enjoy your youth while you can.
Annotated Bibliography: Sources that I used in my final research project, where I studied the effects music therapy had on mentally ill adolescents. Each source is accompanied with a paragraph explaining how and why each source will be used.
Major Project: I was tasked to research some form of alternative medicine and see how it could impact a specific group’s health and wellness. Since I’m passionate about music, I decided to research the effect music therapy had on mentally ill adolescents. It’s incredibly interesting to discover the power music has and what it could do for us.
Rhetorical Analysis: Tasked with analyzing the accuracy of a mental illness portrayal in media, I decided to focus on the most accurate portrayal of autism I could find, which is from a video game. It’s sad to see shows and movies using high-functioning autistic stereotypes to provide entertainment, but the game mentioned in the rhetorical analysis does the complete opposite of that, which, to me, is amazing.
