On August 29, I presented Human Focal Ecology and the Force of Wilderness in a Technological World at the 12th World Wilderness Congres in Rapid City (Black Hills), South Dakota.

On August 8, 2024, I presented a poster titled Untrammeled, Not Untraveled: Toward a Human Ecology of Wilderness at the Ecological Society of America Annual Meeting in Long Beach, CA.

On May 4, 2024, I gave a keynote talk entitled Climate Science within the Big Picture of Sustainability Teaching and Practice to participants in the NYS Master Teacher Program at their 1st Annual Spring Sustainability Conference.

I gave the Spencer Mass Memorial Lecture as part of the EVOS seminar series on February 5, 2024 at SUNY New Paltz. The theme of the series this spring was wilderness, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the US Wilderness Act of 1964.

My talk was entitled: The Enduring Force of Wilderness for People and Nature in a New Millennium.
