I appreciate all the comments you made on the last step I had of this piece. The image is of a mural that I pulled from my research pictures. The words and image of Martin Luther King Jr. is also pulled from a sign I saw in someone’s front yard. I wrote the statement of the sign, and I took the contour of the image of Martin Luther King Jr. in the bottom right corner to give credit to his quote. All of the images have been cropped or altered from the original state I find them. I usually use my camera as a sketchbook. Holding ideas for me until I am ready to start working.
interesting work. I’m wondering how this might be similar to the visual culture imagery you’ve collected for your study – meaning how might pithy pieces connect to the masses similar to Shepard Fairey’s work.

I really like how the color turned out in this. The blue seems like it’s still there, but it’s been very muted down. The color choices also for the incising works really well with it. My only suggestion would be, and I’m not sure if this is just an issue with photographing the image, the imagery of MLK is a little difficult to see against the blue of the hand. Perhaps you could try adding a color the is a tad darker to that image to help it pop out more.
