I have been thinking about forms, mass and shapes this weekend. To be honest, I left my altered books at work and given the beautiful weather, I really wanted to paint outdoors. I was half inside the garage when I began this, honestly, I was looking at the ceiling, cracks and scratches in the floors… I was also thinking about the relationship between the objects. I wanted to give expression to the forms and shapes that did not appeal to me, I have been trying to make the most of things I ” see” lately and also gain new insights into seeing….
I really love the expressive colors in this art work, along with your explanation. What did you create this on? Can you put this inside one of your altered books?
Its so interesting to see the different forms and textures come together in this piece. And the colors work so well in it! Even though its not in your altered book, you could perhaps attempt to transfer it it with a rubbing technique. It would certainly be interesting to see which textures of the painting pop out more so than others and how much of the image can be seen after in the altered book.
