With these, I wanted to try actually printing onto altered paper so I painted the paper before putting it through the printer.

This is my first attempt at transferring onto an altered surface. I wasn’t sure if it would work with my inkjet printed picture but I was pleasantly surprised to see it transferred pretty well onto the slate. Huge thanks to Brette for the slate!

  1. I love the image that you took while you were driving. It reminds me of my commute and how stressful it can be. I love that you are experimenting with the paper prior to printing and then there after. Very cool!

  2. These are cool. I feel like this process is giving the images a different patina, like an aged look, and I’m really into that. You should try dying the paper in coffee or tea before printing the image and then alter it further.

  3. Lindsay, the top image is a transfer too correct? It almost appears like a stamp. I like the ghost images next to the bolder transfers.

    • Yeah! For the top one, I wanted to try transferring the image by “stamping” it from photo paper (fresh out of the printer) onto normal paper.

  4. Really, really awesome! Maybe you could do some photo transfers onto objects from the specific places you’re in or places you wish you were!!
