Giordana Grossi, Professor of Psychology
I am a Professor of psychology at SUNY New Paltz. I joined the New Paltz faculty in 2001. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Pavia (Italy) and my B.A. from the University of Padova (Italy).
I am a cognitive neuroscientist who studies language. My empirical work explores aspects of automaticity and expertise in visual word recognition in both monolinguals and bilinguals, and employs both behavioral and electrophysiological (Event-Related Potentials) measures. I also study sex/gender differences research, in particular the methodological and epistemological problems that characterize such research. I am a member of the Neurogenderings network and work with colleagues from different backgrounds on issues of sex/gender and neuroscience. Please visit my Research, Lab, and Publications web pages for more information.
