Synopsis:

My virtual presentation was addressed to Congress, however there was also a secondary audience. The secondary audience was Professor Rigonlino and my peers. I assume that the members of Congress had a similar opinion on the matter of wanting to better safeguard students in colleges against COVID-19. They are all at risk of the virus themselves and may have a family member that is attending college during the  COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, the members of Congress most likely all know that colleges are COVID-19 hotspots due to constant reports on the news. This rhetorical situation was less challenging because I had to to address more people. Essentially, the chance of a Congress member knowing someone in college struggling with COVID-19 goes up if there are more of them.

In order to appeal to my viewers through logos, I use data about the infection rates in college campuses in the United States. Also, I use pathos by providing a personal statement and speaking with emotion. I said that I personally see people on my college campus that are not following social distance guidelines. Lastly, I use ethos to address the sources that I got my data from.

Through the use of images, slide design, and sound I made my argument stronger. By using images with emotion, cohesive slide design and a confident speaking voice, my arguments became more persuasive.
