On Thursday, October 16th, from 4-5pm, the SUNY AI Community of Practice is hosting a special speaker to kick off the Fall 2025 semester. Dr. Mél Hogan is an Associate Professor in the department of Film and Media at Queen’s University and host of the Data Fix podcast. The session, “12 Problems with ‘AI,’“ focuses on some of the popular critiques of AI emerging from humanities and social sciences perspectives.
Although the focus in this community is on creating assignments, part of the work together will be to develop an awareness of critical takes on AI, and this talk will lay some of the groundwork for that conversation.
