The SUNY Office of Research, Innovation, and Economic Development (ORIED) is thrilled to announce the SUNY Research Leadership Academy – a bold new initiative designed to elevate mid- and senior-level STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Medicine) faculty across the SUNY system to become visionary research leaders through impactful communication and a strong, system-wide leadership network.
This year-long, high-impact faculty development program will:
- Sharpen your audience-centered communication
- Address gender biases in STEMM
- Deepen capacity for inclusive leadership
- Build public trust and engage communities
- Foster a SUNY-wide leadership
What makes this Academy special?
Led by the world-renowned Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science, the School of Communication and Journalism, the Offices of Research, Innovation, and Diversity at Stony Brook University and the SUNY Office of Research, Innovation & Economic Development, this initiative will enhance faculty researchers communication with confidence, clarity, and empathy – while building a strong leadership network across the SUNY system.
