Institutional Effectiveness Certificate
2025 Dates: January 7 – May 12 or May 13 – September 15
Three six-week online courses (via Brightspace)
Contribute to institutional level assessment and accreditation committees and advise others in developing cycles of goal setting, measurement, data collection, process review and evaluation.
What you will learn:
· Establish departmental goals which are aligned with the institution’s strategic plan and/or are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound.
· Demonstrate knowledge of qualitative and quantitative methodologies for assessment of processes and services.
· Recognize sources of data for peer analysis and benchmarking.
· Participate in the evaluation of the campus’ current institutional/unit-level effectiveness initiatives and suggest areas for review and improvement.
· Document evidence of closing the loop and institutional improvement as a result of assessment activities.
Any faculty, staff, or administrators participating in a unit, department, school, or campus assessment project can take this cource.

Assessment Of Learning Outcomes Certificate

Develop learning outcomes, use rubrics and other assessment tools and identify strategies for using results to improve the academic experience.
What you will learn:
· Demonstrate an understanding of the guiding principles of student learning assessment to improve teaching and learning and program development.
· Ability to construct a curricular map and demonstrate an understanding of the implications of curriculum mapping for assessment of learning outcomes.
· Construct learning outcomes and develop an assessment plan for a course, learning activity, academic major or program.
· Develop and apply rubrics to assess learning activities (both face to face and online).
· Identify strategies for using assessment results to improve learning (closing the loop).
· Coordinate activities related to academic assessment on their campus.
Any faculty, staff, or administrators participating in student learning assessment projects can take this course.
