Here in the lab we have a Laser Pro C180. It is a 40 watt C02 laser with a bed size of 18” x 12”. It can easily cut and / or engrave materials such as wood, cardboard, and acrylic up to 1/8” thick. It is extremely useful for small scale prototypes as well as finished products. It allows for precise experimentation with different designs prior to final execution. There is a nominal fee for both laser time and materials which can be paid here on site. Individuals may bring in their own materials to cut or engrave but it MUST pass our list of approved materials. In addition to this, the laser may only be used with the supervision of one of the trained lab technicians.
FILE TYPES ACCEPTED:
CUTTING: ai ( adobe illustrator), dxf (usually from a CAM program such as Rhino, or Inventor)
ENGRAVING: jpeg, pdf, png.
