Hello, my name is David Lin. I have created this ePortfolio for you to review some of the works I have been working on this semester. I am from New York City, and I am attending New Paltz to pursue a degree in computer engineering. Some hobbies of mine are playing volleyball, going on adventures with friends, and trying food at different places.

I attended NYC Museum school for high school. My passions at the time were engineering and chemistry, so I put that together and said to myself I’ll become a chemical engineer. Engineering was always something that I found interesting, like knowing and learning the process of how something is made Is just so cool to me. There’s nothing, in particular, I like about chemistry, to be honest, but I just had an amazing time with the teacher I had for it.

Fast forward to college, my goals and passions have shifted a bit. After taking my first college chemistry course, I came to the realization that chemistry is not for me. I took my first engineering course in my first semester of college and absolutely fell in love with it. It was a computer hardware/software-based course. I wouldn’t say my goals have shifted dramatically because I am still pursuing engineering as my career, but I just replaced computers with chemistry. As for the future, I don’t know if I want to pursue a career in the hardware aspect or software aspect of engineering, but it’s definitely going to be one of them.
