Dani Gardner is an English literature graduate student, instructor of Composition I at SUNY New Paltz, a trumpet player, a composer, and an indie rock musician. Dani is from New York City and has spent the past five years living, studying, and working in the Hudson Valley.
Dani wrote her undergraduate thesis on the cultural and rhetorical importance of zines titled “Powerful Peculiarity: Zines as a Tool to Represent Subjectivity in Peripheral Communities.” Her current coursework is focused on theories of writing as well as what is widely considered one of William Shakespeare’s least known and most lowly regarded plays, Pericles, Prince of Tyre.
Dani’s favorite musician is Adrianne Lenker and her favorite book is Just Kids by Patti Smith. When she’s not doing work for school, she’s making music and going for walks. Her favorite geographical feature is a bluff: where a cliff meets the ocean.
