Beginning her college career as an undecided student, Dawn was open to exploring and took different classes and tapping into her interests to “find” her major. She then went on to earn a Master of Education in Student Affairs Practice with a Concentration in College Counseling. Dawn assists students in the process of figuring out what to major in and how majors link to careers. In her role, she enjoys learning about students as individuals and piecing together their interests, skills, and values with the help of assessments to facilitate the conversation.

In addition, Dawn serves as the Career Specialist for Fine & Performing Arts and enjoys working with our creative students in pursuit of their career interests and integrating the arts into their careers and lives.  She hosts a biweekly IG Live Arts Chat and brings F&PA alumni on as guests to share their creative careers. Helping students articulate their transferrable skills and experience is something Dawn can help assist during an appointment. She wants to meet you!

Outside of work, Dawn enjoys nature, traveling with her husband and playing with her favorite feline.  She feels fortunate to be able to live in a beautiful area and enjoys being a member of the SUNY New Paltz community.
