As the Career Specialist for Business and Computer Science & Engineering, Amanda meets with students in these majors to discuss internship and career options. She also assists students in these majors to prepare to apply for job and internship opportunities. Amanda collaborates with faculty, student groups and colleagues to create career exploration programs, workshops and events for SUNY New Paltz students.
Amanda’s other focus is employer relations as it relates to connecting students with professionals in their area of study or career direction. She organizes site visits to companies and on-campus employer information and networking sessions so that students can make informed decisions about how to go from college to career.
Amanda joined the Career Resource Center in summer 2022 and is thrilled to be part of a team that is so dedicated to the empowerment of SUNY New Paltz students and alumni. She is passionate about working with students to discover how their interests and strengths can be translated into meaningful work in their desired industries. She looks forward to being a resource to all students, from resume-writing to interview prep and everything in between.
Outside of work, Amanda spends most of her time outdoors, binge-reading Agatha Christie novels, and relaxing with her husband, dog, and cats. She’s also an avid knitter and crocheter, so feel free to come in and nerd out over yarn with her!
