Hey, sophomores! This is a big year! Wish you knew someone who’d been through it already? Check out the Sophomore Connections mentoring program, hosted by the Career Resource Center, and match with an alumni mentor.
Connecting with an alum is a great way to:
-explore post-grad pathways and how the choices you make now can lead you there,
-get advice from someone who knows what its like, and
-develop professional skills and networks.
Mentor/mentee pairs connect virtually about 6 times over the semester. Each time, they discuss a different prompt such as work/life balance, career exploration, developing professional skills, and the meaning of a SUNY New Paltz degree.
The Sophomore Connections Mentoring Program is a component of INT 210: Career Readiness, a 1-credit, hybrid course for sophomores. To be paired with a mentor, please enroll in this elective course for Fall 2024. With questions, reach out to Key Bergin (bergink1@newpaltz.edu).
Qualifications:
- Must be a sophomore in Fall 2024
- Must enroll in “Career Readiness,” a 1-credit elective hybrid course. Learn more about the course here.
With questions, please contact Senior Career Specialist Key Bergin (bergink1@newpaltz.edu).
