My name is Brooke Lockett, and I am a first-year student at the State University of New Paltz. I am on a four-year track to graduate with a degree in psychology and business. After four years, I’d like to continue through graduate school and obtain my PhD. My major career goal is to become a relationship and marriage counselor. Furthermore, my minor career goals include starting my own small business as well as some aspects of creative writing. Our wicked question concerning nature, humans, and technology is one that I feel is of great importance to discuss and analyze. As I go through this course, I have found appreciation in informing myself of current global issues and expanding on them within our class towards an environmental and societal stance. As I grow as a writer throughout this course, I am continuously gaining critical skills to do with research, analysis, and comprehension. The knowledge I’ve gained in this class accelerates my academic abilities. However, one thing I struggle with in this course is the scaffolding building block structure of the wicked question, of how all the assignments and projects build up to the next. I have never experienced this in a course before and I have found it difficult to rebound from topics. While I have found this course demanding, I also recognize the ways in which it benefits me towards my skills, education, and perspective of society.
