NYSCATE has drawn strength and support from its talented and diverse membership since 1965. With a current membership of over 25,000 members, all regions of the state are represented in our community teachers,
administrators, school board members, parents, consultants and the business community.
The NYSCATE Annual Conference brings over 1,500 educators together with the knowledge and resources they need to transform the future of teaching and learning. BOCES, RICs and district-level administrators, curriculum and technology leaders, teachers, librarians, and champions of ed tech will convene to share and discover innovative ways to engage students, enhance curriculum, and increase productivity.
She was recently featured in a SUNY New Paltz News article titled “Education majors lead movement to unlock potential of new K-12 technology,” for her efforts in Educational Technology for Teacher Preparation.
On Monday, November 25, 2019, Liz took part in the Teachers of Tomorrow: Teacher Prep & Web 4.0 session at NYSCATE with Dr. Kiersten Greene Associate Professor of Literacy and Head of Edtech For Teacher Preparation at SUNY New Paltz,
Sarah McPherson, Carissa Punkosdy, and Brianna Vaughan. Together they discussed their past work and hopes in the future for Educational Technology in Teacher Preparation at SUNY New Paltz. The presentation also discussed the incorporation of technology in future classrooms.
Through this opportunity Liz went to many different workshops, she learned a variety of apps and tools that she could bring back to SUNY New Paltz and her Student
Teaching classroom. She also made connections with people throughout New York State that she will hopefully continue to work with in the future, including the Monica Burns, Apple Distinguished Educator Jenna Stack, Hudson Valley Educational Technology Group,
fellow NYSCATE members, and more!
