On the Wednesday evening of September 21st 2022, the Asian Studies Program held our Mid-Autumn Festival event, co-sponsored by the Center for International Programs!
This was the first in person Mid-Autumn festival at SUNY New Paltz after two years online, due to the COVID pandemic. It was a great way for us all to celebrate reunion and enjoy the festivities!
We opened with a welcome from Professor Shimada, followed by a brief presentation on what the Mid-Autumn festival is.
Next we enjoyed a special musical performance, sung in Chinese by Professor Lu’s Chinese 201 class!
We then had the pleasure of a special guest performance in traditional Chinese calligraphy and art, by renowned artist Bi Guanliang!

Finally we continued our celebration with origami, calligraphy, party games, and food and mooncakes!
