“SUNY Binghamton University’s Master’s degree in Translation to share with your undergraduate students. This MA program aims to hone skills and prepare students to be professional translators.
The MA in Translation within the Translation Research and Instruction Program (TRIP), offered on our campus in the college town of Binghamton, NY, requires 32 credits that can be completed in as few as three semesters. The graduate program is open to applicants from most language pairs that include English.
Coursework in computer-assisted translation, translation workshops, and project management, as well as electives that include specialized translation, editing, and localization, prepare students for careers across the translation industry. The capstone summative project offers a range of opportunities, depending on individual preference, from supporting faculty or working on translation projects in University offices to gaining experience with a translation company or community partner.
Applications for admission are due annually by January 15 to be considered for the following fall semester. GRE scores are not required. Applicants are asked to demonstrate their language proficiency in both languages, with an emphasis on reading proficiency, through writing samples, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.”
