3.11 Great East Japan Earthquake 10-Year Anniversary Memorials

It has been ten years since a massive earthquake, tsunami and subsequent nuclear disaster occurred in the northeastern part of Japan. In the coming week there are many virtual events taking place to commemorate these events and the fallout over the last ten years. Below is a very partial list; many more are out there if you search.

Japan Society (March 9, 7-9 pm). Also through the Japan Society is a video series with 3.11-related stuff.
Univ. of Michigan (March 11, 7pm). On the topic of gender disparity in the disaster response
Univ. of British Columbia, Museum of Anthropology (March 11, 10pm). Online tour of 3.11 exhibit at world-class museum.
Japanese American Museum of San Jose (Friday March 12, 8-9:30 pm)
Univ. of British Columbia, Center for Japanese Research in tandem with Tokyo Univ. (March 17, 8:30-10:30). Panel focusing on Fukushima nuclear disaster.
University of Colorado at Boulder (March 18, 7-8:30 Keynote, March 19, 5-8 paper presentations). Focus on technopolitical dimensions of aftermath of 3.11.
