JET Program Information Sessions

The Consulate General of Japan in New York is pleased to invite the students of SUNY New Paltz and others you may know to our upcoming virtual information sessions for the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program, a competitive employment opportunity managed by the government of Japan that allows young professionals to live and work in cities, towns, and villages throughout Japan.

The sessions will be hosted via Zoom Webinar, and is a rare chance to hear directly from a JET Program Coordinator as well as former JET Program participants.

ABOUT THE JET PROGRAM

Founded in 1987, JET has sent more than 70,000 participants from around the globe (including more than 35,800 Americans) to work in schools, boards of education, and government offices throughout Japan. Being a JET is an opportunity to work and to represent the United States as cultural ambassadors to Japan. Most participants serve as Assistant Language Teachers (ALTs) and work in public and private schools; some work as Coordinators for International Relations (CIRs) as interpreters/translators. New applications are accepted each fall.
