The Virtual Presentation
Synopsis:
This presentation is addressed to the High School Start Time Committee at Columbia High School. Throughout the presentation, I suggest that they switch the original schedule at Columbia to a block schedule which would allow students to go in two hours later while dismissal would remain the same time. I anticipated that this committee would be willing to listen and take suggestions because of their prior research on the topic. Before preparing the presentation, I researched the committee’s website page and took their stance on the topic into consideration. To appeal to this audience, I primarily used logic and emotion to get them interested in this topic. By adding statistics and research about this topic and speaking about teenagers’ mental health and the negative effects, I was able to appeal more strongly to the audience. I used to select pictures and information to get my point across most effectively to my audience. The most challenging aspect of turning my paper into a presentation was choosing which facts to include and how to make it flow seamlessly without making the presentation too long.
