Hello, my name is Anna and I am in my second year at SUNY New Paltz, I have yet to declare a major but I am interested in taking science courses. Despite my hatred for reading and lack of spelling, I have learned to enjoy my time writing in the English 170 course. I have researched the environmental issue of wildfires for the entire semester and have grown a passion for the topic. I learned about the environmental crisis and discovered the stigma this portrays in the media (specifically the American culture). Learning about these different perspectives and sources has given me the ability to become more aware of the world we live in. It has brought much insight into my mind about humans’ relationship with nature. As you go through my page you will watch how my views on our environment expand and stronger feelings develop toward the issue. Aside from school, I work at Dutchess County Gymnastics Center. Teaching people of all ages gymnastics—the sport that has been my passion since elementary school is one of the things I love to do most. Building relationships with the children I teach and aiding them in achieving their goals is very important to me. I appreciate my experiences with my schoolwork and job; my journey has only yet to start, but I am proud of where I stand now. One of my most recent accomplishments is becoming a certified USAG competitive gymnastics coach and I am very excited to see where my adventures will lead me.
