Favorite Food

This graph shows a Bar Graph on students favorite foods. Before the bar graph was created, there was a survey that was conducted. The individual who conducted the survey was Angelica, a 3rd grade student. She wanted to know what an individuals favorite food would be based on the provided choices. The choices she provided were: Ice Cream, Pizza, Hamburger, Papusas, Tacos, and Mac and Cheese. Angelica tracked the other students answers through tally marks.

Once she gathered enough answers, Angelica created a bar graph to see exactly which food was the overall favorite and least favorite. Angelica made sure to provide a title, but she forgot to place the titles for the x-axis and y-axis. She  placed the number of individuals votes on the y-axis and the food choices on the x-axis, as well as color coordinated bars.

Food Labels: Veggie Burgers vs. Chiky Cookies

This graph was created in class. In groups we were looking at the nutrition labels on the two foods that we each brought to class. With both food labels, I looked at the protein, fiber, carbohydrates, and sugar per serving size. I had to compare both food items through a chart and create a bar graph to see which one of the two foods are healthier to eat. As you can see the Chiky Cookies have more carbohydrates and sugar, but less protein and fiber.  The Portabella Veggie Burgers have more protein and fiber, but less carbohydrates and sugar.

Oobleck: Is it a liquid or a solid?

When looking at this graph, you will notice that we were testing oobleck to see if it is more like a solid or more like a liquid. There were nine different tests that were conducted: Quick finger poke, Slow finger poke, Conformity, Quick pour, Slow pour, Bounce, Shatter, Shape, and Heat. After each test we had to summarize exactly what we witnessed and decide if it acted more like a solid or liquid. Once we completed all of the tests, we were to put the results into a pie chart to see the results clearly.
