This Glitch Art Assignment was both an interesting and frustrating project for me to undertake. While I thoroughly enjoyed data-bending and creating interesting imagery by manipulating my images in ways I had never done before I had an extremely hard time doing so. It was not easy getting the project to work on a PC and during the first day of class I ended up giving up and switching over to a mac as it was not worth the stress and anxiety it was causing me to have with no results. After finally being able to do some projects on the mac I went home trying to figure out how I was going to be able to work on the project at home as I did not have a mac. After searching around on the internet I was finally able to find how to get Glitch Art to work on the PC and successfully created a piece. I worked by switching between copying and pasting lines and deleting small phrases every so often in the images before doing a couple of pieces that either only involved deletion or copying phrases. Towards the end of the work I also attempted to add in letters or words but that as that most often resulted in destroyed images that I could not save I ended up rejecting most of those works. My favorite pieces have to be the ones where the colors drastically change suddenly and part of the image is light while the other is extremely dark with small highlights. While I did enjoy the creation part of the assignment the immense struggles I went through to get to the artist part of the activity made it hard to fully relax and explore the data-bending as I would have liked to in its entirety.
