Scratch Lesson

Learning how to use Scratch was challenging, yet fun. I thought that the toughest part was not knowing what to do with code to do what you envisioned. I also think there were more limitations to creating art within this digital space.

I used about 33 sprites of my own elements that I chose and shapes/words describing my world. Students would experiment with space, color, and style. I had fun setting up and designing my backgrounds and students would come up with their own versions. I also had a gallery to display artwork examples. I would have students use their own art or their favorite artists.

When it came to lesson planning, I think I missed the mark a little bit with what the big idea was. I wanted to have an interactive world using elements of art. The problem was you can’t create a whole lesson plan just based on the elements of art. If I could redo my project, I would go back into one piece of my interactive art world where students create a collage.
