Databending is similar to collaging and printmaking where there is a lot of experimentation. They become more abstract the more you add or take away which can be opposite to painting where the more you add the more information you have. I learned how the inner working of a digital photo works and that so much information goes into creating an image. I never thought to collage code together, but I definitely want to continue using code as a form of media. The most challenging part of the process was guessing what aspect of the photo would be changed. I had trouble balancing between too much change and too little change. My process changed throughout my experimentation. At first I would replace all of a number or letter, but then I would try to collage data into the existing image for a different effect. I thought it was fun to see the images become more abstract and colorful. There was a lot of variation in each image even under the same process. I would apply this project to students learning about digital photography or photoshop, because it shows the basic of how a digital image is formed. This project differed from my knowledge of art education, because I have never had a digital art project that has involved coding and it is interesting to combine the too since they are very closely related.
