In recent years there has been an abundance of different environmental issues. Such as

flooding and storms , droughts and wildfires that go on for weeks. The amazon rainforest was

almost lost to a fire , and everyday tons and tons of plastic is floating in the sea. I’ve heard

headlines that claim that the earth is at risk of overheating and this worries me. Every year the

list of endangered species gets bigger and bigger. People continue to hunt animals such as rhinos

and elephants for their horns. Living in a society in which all these issues are prevalent, I think

that it is important to educate the youth. In order to help prevent further damage to the planet.

I’ve noticed a lack of environmental awareness in this school , and I thought I’d write a

letter to propose a change. I understand that being a school in an urban city might hinder your

ability to actually help clean up oceans and do other manual labor work that would help the

environment. BUt what you can do is educate and spread the word top those who can do

something to help the issues. Being in a tourist area, the students of the school when I was there

would go out and protest about social issues. This environmental issue is no different..
