The Fahari Libertad is a collective committed to printing the political, social, and economic views, narratives, and concerns regarding BIPOC students here at SUNY New Paltz. “Fahari” is a noun derived from KiSwahili that translates to ‘dignity’, while “Libertad” is a Spanish noun translating to ‘Freedom’. We believe this name is fitting for our collective, as we seek knowledge, truth, and spiritual unity for all. We accept anyone who is truly committed to these goals to work with us.
