When I first began my research on dollhouses I thought that my findings would revolve around first wave feminism. I thought the main critiques would be around the pink plastic barbie houses and how they tame girls into domesticity. While this was a valid concern with dollhouses, I learned how they had actually been used as a tool for feminism as well. This taught me that the power of an object lies in the meaning we associate with it. While some take onto dollhouses as a way to control your own little world and explore interpersonal dynamics others will see a girl playing house and not look any further. I was sad to expand this take into an oppressive cycle in which the feminist rebellion art made with dollhouses is put into museums where the exact group of oppressors that benefits from a patriarchal society gets to further profit off of historical art. One of my main grammatical issues in writing was comma placement. Im still not a hundred percent confident on comma placement but I think I did a decent job of correcting my mistakes in my final.
