Jackson’s Journey consists of several excerpted short story “chapters” that are a part of a larger narrative. This narrative tracks a twenty-dollar bill across the country during the 1970’s and 1980’s. The selected excerpts contain the first three short stories. The first is about a criminal and his rise and fall in the area of Southern California. The second story follows a feminist who reviews how the events in her life led her to fight for women’s rights. The third story follows a drummer who joins a rock band and goes on his very first tour. These narratives are separated by interludes that detail the connection between them and the twenty-dollar bill.
