Tinkercad is a program I had never heard of prior to this assignment. Therefore, working with it was entirely new to me. However, I found the tools easy to become familiar with and use. I first began working with very simple and basic shapes. As I explored, I tried playing with the hole tool and by trying to group the objects together.
I then started a new project and continued to experiment with new combining shapes to create a box that was made up of more complex and organic forms. Here I used hearts as the main shape to establish my form to resemble a flower.
Once I was happy with the form of the foundation, I combined all of my shapes, increased the height of the structure, and put a whole in the shape.
I then decided to work on the lid of my piece. I duplicated the shape of my box and then added details to the lid. I decided to have the main shape decrease in size so that it would look like the petals on a flower and I used a half a sphere at the center.
I continued to play around with different effects that I could create to make the lid more intricate.
Finally, I tried to create a way to ensure that the lid would fit into the base. I did this by creating a small section the same shape and size as the hole of the base.
