On Friday, March 19th, NYPIRG will be hosting our Spring Student Empowerment Conference via Zoom

The event will feature an interview with US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer facilitated by student journalists focused on the impact of the American Recovery Act and other COVID stimulus legislation on New York. Student leaders and education advocates will discuss how New York’s divestment from higher education has impacted students and the CUNY, SUNY, and independent college systems, and what policies can be adopted to put students and their institutions first. A panel discussion featuring community and student advocates will be held focused on the steps that New York must take this year to protect air and water quality, and make further steps against Climate Change.
