Tabling at a Health Fair
Planned Parenthood is hosting a health fair for youth on February 16th in Kingston. We are looking for outgoing volunteers who would like to share information about our programs and services and have conversations with young people about the LGBTQ Center.
Friday, February 16th, 2:00pm-6:00pm

Testing Happy Hour Volunteer
Once a month, the Center hosts free HIV/STI testing. We are looking for a people-oriented volunteer to welcome visitors, answer questions about the screening, be a friendly listening ear, and lock up the building occasionally.
RECURRING: first Thursday of the month, 4:45pm-7:15pm
SPECIAL EVENT: Healthcare Provider Training
The Center offers free cultural responsiveness training for health providers in the Hudson Valley–on the 13th, we are going to try to get as many in the room as possible! We need help setting up the room, welcoming and signing in visitors, and cleaning up at the end of the night.
Tuesday, February 13th, 5:00pm-8:00pm
SPECIAL EVENT: Intergenerational Meal

Dinner’s on us! Help the Center kick of our new intergenerational programming starting with our intergenerational meal, fondly called SAGE Table. We are looking for a volunteer to help set up, welcome guests, and clean up.

Tabling at a Internship Fair
Help us reach college students at SUNY New Paltz about our internship opportunities! Interns help us with important tasks such as social media, college student outreach, library management, and more. Tasks include helping to set up and clean up, speaking with students about the Center’s work, and sharing your experience. Lunch is provided!
Wednesday, March 14th, 10:30am-3:30pm
SUNY New Paltz Student Union Multi-Purpose Room
Represent the Center at an Interagency Meeting
There are so many amazing organizations and agencies in the Hudson Valley, and they often meet to share news about what they’re up to. These meetings are usually monthly or bimonthly and on Tuesday mornings (9:00 or 9:30). This is a great opportunity for a volunteer who is comfortable presenting in front of large groups, is or wants to become familiar with our programs and services, is passionate about nonprofit work and human services, and is either able to travel to or lives near one of the below locations.
Goshen, Poughkeepsie, or Ellenville
Library Cataloging
We are in the midst of the process of cataloging the largest LGBTQ library in the Hudson Valley! So far, we’ve cataloged almostĀ 1,000 publications, and we’re not even halfway done. This job is perfect for someone who loves leafing through books, is detail-oriented, and proficient with excel.
