HRMM Volunteer Orientation

HRMM is looking for new volunteers for the 2017 season. New and returning volunteers are encouraged to attend the orientation. Additional, task-specific training dates will be scheduled in March & April.

Orientation starts at the Hudson River Maritime Museum, 50 Rondout Landing, Kingston, NY 12401. Get Directions.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Museum Educators
HRMM needs museum educators to help with school field trips, the massive Hudson River Stewards program, family programs, and children’s activities at events. Prior experience working with kids a plus. This volunteer opportunity requires weekday and daytime availability.

Tour Guides
HRMM needs tour guides to help with offsite walking tours and other programs, lighthouse tours, and general museum tours for adults and mixed age groups. This volunteer opportunity requires daytime availability, weekdays and/or weekends.

YouthBoat Assistant Instructors
HRMM needs volunteers with woodworking experience to assist in the YouthBoat morning and after school programs for high school students. This opportunity requires weekday daytime availability.

Museum Store Clerks
HRMM needs volunteers to staff our museum store. The store sells gifts, admissions tickets, and serves as a tourism clearinghouse for the general area. Prior experience running a cash register a plus. Regular, weekly shifts of 3.5 hours are available on both weekdays and weekends.
