Image result for catskill hudson area health education centerAt Catskill Hudson Area Health Education Center we are planning our annual Nursing Summit to take place on December 2 at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. This is a signature event of our organization and the presenters are remarkable. They will be covering a range of topics related to the roles of nurses in improving population health at a time of healthcare systems transformation and speaking to an audience of about 100 practicing nurses from across downstate New York and elsewhere.

We have a need for help with researching, refining and adding contact names to our e/mail list for marketing this event to practicing nurses who might wish to attend, and I thought I’d ask if any of the qualified student volunteers that you work with might be available for this purpose.

Work could be done remotely, and a few hours or more a week would be helpful, if not half-day blocks (or more) once or twice a week. Most of the work takes place in Excel and on the Internet, with possible usage of Outlook. We would hope volunteers have prior experience with Excel, access to their own computer, and attention to detail and internet research.

We’d be happy to spend some time with volunteers teaching about the field of healthcare workforce development and other activities they may be interested in learning about, along the way, to enrich their experience and point them toward career or professional resources they may find helpful that we support, since that’s an important part of our overall mission, and one that has interested other volunteers and AmeriCorps members that have worked with us in years past.

 …This project might last for portions of 4-6 weeks, depending on how many hours a week a volunteer can offer and how this relates to their interests.
