Well, to be honest I was cleaning out my closet in my apartment. I came across some old acrylics I had stashed away ( maybe they have been accumulating dust in there for 4 years)  I also have old canvasses I hoard in the closet from my ever consuming hobby of tag sale hunting. So, really this was an experiment to find out if the paints were still any good. Turns out, with a little retarder, I was in business. Recently that morning at school, I was showing an advanced student some watercolors from Emil Nolde. ( I have also loved the Expressionists- especially Franz Marc). So, I think I had color on my mind that night and I was perusing through a travel magazine on the coffee table. This was a destination in Montepulciano, Italy. My artwork always seems to follow landscape and nature and my interest in places.Next week, depending on weather< I hope to take the kids outside to paint trees in plein air! ( Maybe Ill tie in Emily Carr).
