Wish I could have tried this with the laser cutter over the summer! However, I still find it a bit more amazing what people can accomplish without high tech tools. I think I would be a little more in awe if Eric Standley completed his work by hand. Then there is this element of curiosity that arises for me of how he completed such a task. Knowing he completed his work with a laser cutter is a bit of a let down.

  1. His works looks really cool! Like you mentioned, I would be really curious to learn more about the technique he uses in actually creating these because they are intense. It’s a little different but it reminded me a bit of quilling art (rolled up paper).

  2. Lindsay, I did read a little on his website, and he actually does use a laser cutter. However, I actually really enjoy quilling as well. I wonder if you could get some of his outcomes with that technique? I have done projects with quilling in the past with my students. Its definitely something I enjoy!
