Event TODAY: “The Will to Security” by Robert Samet

Good morning, All,
Hope you’ll join us for a presentation by anthropologist Robert Samet from Union College, entitled “The Will to Security: Media, Populism, and the Politics of Crime.” The event will take place at 4:00 pm in the Honors Center, and is sponsored by the Departments of Anthropology and Political Science/International Relations and the Latin American & Caribbean Studies Program. This event will be of special interest to faculty and students interested in Latin America, in populism (both theory and practice) in today’s world, and in the role of media in shaping the contours of public opinion in a crisis moment.
