We started off with a simple moving pin wheel to try to get movement.
We added wheels using dowels and wooden cylinders to keep the wheels moving freely. At a point we adjusted the wheels to having only one set in the front and one wheel in the back like a tricycle, but that made it significantly worse.
We attached them together.
We tried moving the placement of the battery to see if the different weight distribution would help it. We also tried curving the cardboard of the pinwheel to catch the air more and help with motion. We found that the more we tinkered with it the worse the motion got. We used binder clips as a switch and added cats and paper for decorative purposes. At times the car would move straight and other times in a circle or very slow. We had trouble controlling it motion. We tried adding more propellers and having it touch the ground to see if having it drag would enhance forward movement, but it was not successful. It was a lot of trial and error to see what would improve its performance and what wouldn’t. We tried brainstorming ideas of what are ways we could have made it work in the future like possibly using straws for parts of the wheels. Overall, the car didn’t move very well proving that cats shouldn’t drive.
