Through out my experience with creating art, I have always wanted to learn about different, materials and way to produce works. In high school, I did a lot of painting, and metal work. Many of my metals pieces are at home, so I don’t have access to pictures of them. I did take basic metals last year so I included a couple images from that. I also love oil paint and I just completed the two abstract pieces. Some of the landscapes are related to my past trip to Greece, which were really fun to do. I also base a lot of work on my mom who passed away 5 years ago, from breast cancer. One piece that is a tribute to her is the metal work that has moon like forms and resembles a feminine body part to relate to idea of motherhood and femininity. I also have explored art through photography and included some of those pictures. I want to keep exploring different forms of media, to gain knowledge on myself and see what is out there to create!
I really admire how much contrast you get in all of your works! Especially with the first photo, the contrast is awesome not only with the colors, but with textures as well. The red squares painting is also really impressive!
Stunning work Abby! It’s so wonderful to see your metal work again, and how it is compares and contrasts to your paintings and drawings!
Beautiful work! I love the first painting and the painting of Greece. The colors are in those are so pretty! Your metalworking is so clean and neat and the designs are so cool! I wish mine looked like that. Metals was not my strong suit haha
I really admire your architectural paintings you have done!! I also recognize that neon piece that is in Dia, in Beacon, I love it!!
Hi Abby!
All of your work is so sophisticated and elegant! I love your use of movement and geometric patterns especially! Your metalworking is so skillfully done – it reminds me of my high school Jewelry Teacher’s work (and she was a high end jeweler for a couple decades before she started teaching).
The first painting is definitely my favorite though – orange is my favorite color! 🧡
I absolutely love your work! I think it’s really beautiful how you make work in memory of your mother. I also really love your more abstract works, they show a great sense of creativity and skill. Keep up the amazing work! <3
