Hey guys.. so has anyone ever tried to teach a lesson using toothpicks as a material? I came across a donation from the cooking teacher here, I would like to introduce this next week.. any thoughts? Wood glue successful? I found this guy below, he has actually deasigned the entire San Fran bay using over 100, 000 toothpicks if yu wanted to check him out.!Thanks

Brette, I have only done this as a station with my kiddos. I have never done it as an actual project. When I watched my students try to replicate things they got highly frustrated because the toothpicks would move before the glue dried or was tacky enough. I did implement this with 10th grade students that had alternative needs though. They were challenged to try and create a cube. Not sure if that is helpful. However, I do love the look of toothpick sculptures.
