Although I’ve been really overwhelmed with HREB stuff and getting all of my paper work done for my field trip I still really enjoyed doing this first layer. It was really time consuming, but totally worth it. I was checking out all of the different pine cones on our property and thought that making a large cropped version of one would be a little different than the landscapes that I had been doing. This is done entirely with ball point pens. One and a half of them to be exact.
wow, on a personal level, I find this is a really interesting drawing (so far?) and such a different direction for you! How do you feel about that?
I really enjoyed this, probably the most fulfillment that I’ve gotten in a while-in terms of art making. I’m going to add color and layer of small detail on top of it.
Very interesting Jenn, it reminds me of rock layers. The shading is beautiful and delicate… wondering if you will be including some color in the future?
I’m going to add a splash of color and go from there. I love this so far!
Nice Jenn. I have to say, I really like that you always seem to (intentionally or not intentionally?) put your every day life into your work. For me that’s what makes it so interesting. It’s like you’re telling a story through what currently consumes you.
I really like how these pen drawings are developing. Its nice to see drawings being made out of something that we do not automatically assume to be a prime art making tool. The contrast between the black and white is also really interesting. I can’t wait to see it with colors!
