I added a metallic wash over areas of this to make it appear to be glowing in areas. I added my douglas fur trees as another layer, and I plan on adding more tonight, this was from last work before I went to Virginia to see my aunt. I will be posting about my experience with a gem mine and how I am going to incorporate it into my next ball point pen drawing.

Very cool Jenn, when you mention a metallic wash, what kind of paint exactly did you use? I really love how luminous your work is…
Its the golden inks in mica and gold! I love them they add just enough without making it looking cheesy.
Jenn, I really love the additions of the ink and ballpoint pen. Have you thought about adding this as the top layer with India ink (If I didn’t mistake your process)?
I need to upload my next step, but that is exactly what I did. I added more india ink and acrylic white paint instead.
Love the additions! This is really coming together and I can’t wait to see where you take it next!

I really like the inclusion of the trees. The organic forms of the trees and pine cone in the background balance out the bold forms of color very well. I’m always excited to see how you add on to these!
