Russian artist, Alexi Jawlensky is having his first retrospective show in the US, consisting of 75 paintings, at the Neue Galerie, beginning September 16, NYC.
I would really enjoy getting down to see some of his works if time prohibits. I have always been fond of the expressionists ( Emil Nolde also) as I admire their strong use of colors to emphasize forms and mood…
When I saw the first portrait by Jawlensky, it reminded me a lot of the portraits you brought with you during the Winter session. The use of color and bold lines is really interesting and can really see a connection between both Jawlensky’s and your own art style
I agree alot with Lindsay, this definitely speaks to your work. How have the altered books been going?
