ROLE

Because I truly enjoy “shop talk” about ed-tech with colleagues, I bring a willingness to learn and a certain level of flexibility in terms of trying to conceptualize/understand course goals in disciplines outside of my own. No, I will likely not be able to help a STEM person with a specific program, but talking pedagogy with, let’s say, an instructor of thermodynamics is always exciting!

MENTOR STRENGTHS

My curiosity about what faculty are doing in their classrooms, both around our campus and across SUNY, drives a lot of my research into ed-tech. I enjoy experimenting with ed-tech tools—whether it be beta testing an app or using tried-and-true technology. I love learning from others and passing around information about online pedagogy and course design.

COURSES

ENG—that’s English, not engineering. Mostly Composition and Writing and Rhetoric, but also courses in the novel and short story.

HOBBIES

Other than testing ed tech and creating Camtasia videos and Rise lessons, I enjoy taking 2-3 mile walks while listening to audiobooks. My favorite subjects include history, economics, and religion. From August through February, I am busy managing my fantasy football team, The Lhasa Apsos.
