SUNY Teaching & Learning Certificate for New Faculty, beginning Jan. 5, 2021

Designed and delivered by SUNY faculty developers and faculty, the program is intended to assist new faculty or others (graduate assistants, adjuncts, instructional designers, librarians) interested in a high-quality and engaging professional development experience. Those who complete the program learn the basic set of skills and knowledge needed for teaching in higher education.

Registration is open for the Teaching and Learning Certificate for New Faculty Program at https://suny.edu/tlnfcert

The first course, Essential Communication Skills for Teaching, begins January 5, 2021. The other two courses (Learning Theories and Effective Teaching Practices and Evaluation & Assessment) also take place in the Spring of 2021 and conclude May 10. The courses are not sequential so you can take only one course or spread them out through taking some later in 2021. All courses take place online in Blackboard and are asynchronous so you do not need to log in at a specific time. Each course lasts six weeks and requires about 2-4 hours per week to complete.

Contact facultycenter@newpaltz.edu to find out about CPD points if your department cannot cover expenses.

You can get a discount if you register for all three courses at the same time. SUNY CPD Membership Points can be used to pay for this program. Contact chris.price@suny.edu if you have any questions.
