Date / Time: Monday, Sept 11th:  11:00 AM – 12:15 PM

Wednesday, Sept 13th: 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM

Location: Faculty Development Center, College Hall, 113

The College’s new Academic Success Referral System is a campus-wide early intervention tool that allows faculty to submit information regarding academically-related concerns that could present obstacles to student learning and student success. Faculty who submit Academic Success Referrals take the lead in supporting SUNY New Paltz’s commitment to student success. A referral that comes at the first sign of student difficulty maximizes the likelihood that staff can successfully intervene in time to make a difference.

Dante Cantú, Executive Director of Advising and Student Success, and staff provide an overview of the College’s new faculty-driven early warning system and its connection to the integrated peer-to-peer support services available to students through the Center for Student Success.

A preview of forthcoming professional development programming for new faculty advisors will also be discussed.
